Weyrling Training Guide: Months 10-12

MONTH 10: Practice /betweening/.

*Sevenday 37: Go /between/ to various places immediately around the Weyr, slowly building up visualization library.

*Sevenday 38: Fly /between/ to holds and halls.

*Sevenday 39: Go /between/ to more places. If thread returns, the weyrlings will take sacks of firestone to riders in fall starting this sevenday.

*Sevenday 40: Continue practising going /between/ and building up the visualization library. Learn to

MONTH 11: Practising going /between/ in formation. Collisions from coming out from /between/ to close together, are frequent, especially in the first sevenday.

*Sevenday 41: /Between/ in formation -- Groups of 5

*Sevenday 42: /Between/ in formation -- Groups of 10

*Sevenday 43: /Between/ in formation -- Two groups

*Sevenday 44: /Between/ in formation -- Whole class

MONTH 12: Firestone training begins.

*Sevenday 45: Classroom study: Properties of firestone, and dragon's second stomach.

*Sevenday 46: Classroom study: First Aid for burns, singes, etc.

*Sevenday 47: Training with "softstone"- low quality firestone. Goldriders may begin training with flamethrowers and their basic maintenance at this time or will be sent to the Senior Weyrwoman for specific lessons with her.

*Sevenday 48: Practice controlling and sustaining flame. Stone quality goes up with proficiency.
