Weyrling Training Guide: Months 16-19

MONTH 16: Ropefalls in two groups, most accurately simulating Wings in Threadfall.
*Sevenday 61: Review first months lessons plus ropefalls
*Sevenday 62: Review second months lessons plus ropefalls
*Sevenday 63: Review third months lessons plus ropefalls
*Sevenday 64: Review fourth months lessons plus ropefalls
MONTH 17: Classes at discretion of Weyrlingmaster, focusing on weyrlings weak
points and working one on one with each as well as flying in Weyrling wing.
*Sevenday 65: Begin flying in Weyrling Wing.
*Sevenday 66: Ropefalls in two groups, most accurately simulating Wings in Threadfall.
*Sevenday 67: Ropefalls in five groups, most accurately simulating Wings in
Threadfall.
*Sevenday 68: Ropefalls in ten groups, most accurately simulating Wings in
Threadfall.
MONTH 18: Fullriders may be allowed to (and are encourage to) join in – those
recovering from injury, pregnancy and those who choose to practice, practice and practice!
These are also the months where Wingleaders and their Wingseconds will be encouraged to watch
the weyrling class practice to assess each individuals skills, strengths and weakenesses.
Sevenday 69: The same as previous months. Ropefalls, ropefalls, ropefalls. Focusing on
strengthening weyrlings and allowing the pair to achieve the maximum potential. Review
dragonhealing advanced first aid: review treatment of cuts and gashes.
Sevenday 70: The same as previous months. . Ropefalls, ropefalls, ropefalls Focusing
on strengthening weyrlings and allowing the pair to achieve the maximum potential. Review
Dragonhealing advanced first aid: recognizing stretched/torn muscles and ligaments.
Sevenday 71: The same as previous months. . Ropefalls, ropefalls, ropefalls Focusing
on strengthening weyrlings and allowing the pair to achieve the maximum potential. Review
Dragonhealing advanced first aid: torn wingsails.
Sevenday 72: The same as previous months. . Ropefalls, ropefalls, ropefalls Focusing
on strengthening weyrlings and allowing the pair to achieve the maximum potential. Reveiew
Dragonhealing advanced first aid: broken bones
MONTH 19: The final stretch! Individual assessments, Wingleaders interview
potential weyrlings for their Wings. Make full rider cords. Graduation (weyrlings equivalent
of ‘walking the tables the crafts do’ Wingleaders ‘tap’ graduates.)
Sevenday 73: Individual assessment with Wingleaders and their Seconds as well as the
Weyrleader (if he has the time) Discussions of individual weyrlings future goals, possible
Wing preferences (and why they would have a preference), review of weyrlings ‘record’ during
their time as a weyrling etc.
Sevenday 74: Make full rider cords, graduation, tapping to Wings. *Note* Although
this is
supposed to happen as soon as possible after graduation, tapping to a wing may take anywhere
from a few sevendays to a few months
